form.
Accreditation on the basis of assessment of overseas qualifications is restricted to three (3) levels (first professional level and above):

  • Translator
  • Advanced Translator
  • Conference Interpreter
  • Advanced Translator (Senior)
  • Conference Interpreter (Senior)

NOTE: Accreditation as an Interpreter at the first professional level is not available by overseas qualifications. Work in Australia at this level is generally at the community level (health, legal, government) and requires a sound knowledge of Australian social infrastructures. Interpreting courses delivered at overseas locations do not include contextual studies about Australian systems and therefore they do not meet the NAATI requirements.
