NAATI offers the opportunity for candidates, where they have a specific concern or concerns with the assessment of their test, to review their test result and/or to receive additional feedback about their performance. Three options are provided; review only, report only or a review and report.
Please note that only one of the above options can be accessed per test sat. For example it is not possible to request a review after receiving a report on the test. Candidates must lodge an appropriately completed ‘Application for Review’ form, within two months of the date of the result letter. A fee is charged for the review process. (Please refer to the current fees schedule available on this website). This form gives the candidate the opportunity to indicate clearly which review opinion they wish to take. Although all candidates have the opportunity for a review, they should be aware that if their original result is 65 or less, there is little chance of the result being upgraded from a fail to pass. Although the outcome of the review may result in the candidate having his/her mark upgraded to a pass, there is absolutely no guarantee of this. It is rare for the review process to result in a significant change in the candidate’s overall result. The test review process takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks. This applies irrespective of whether the candidate applies for a review, report or review and report. Until the review is completed and the outcome decided, the original result will stand. Candidates are not permitted to sit another test of the same language, level, skill and direction until the result of the review has been notified to the candidate. The outcome of the review will be posted to the candidate. It will not be given by telephone, fax, e-mail, personal callers or to a third party. Candidates who sat a Translator test are urged to view their marked test paper before deciding to apply for a review, although this is not a compulsory requirement. |
