The Online Directory lists those translators and interpreters accredited or recognised by NAATI in all States and Territories, who wish to have their NAATI details published for the purpose of employment. The Directory is a reference document for use by those requiring the services of qualified and practising translators and interpreters.

NAATI depends on the entrants to supply correct information in their applications for entry to the Directory and notify NAATI of any changes to name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail and website addresses during the year. Notified alterations are made daily on the on-line Directory. A CD ROM version is also available for purchase. The CD version is static as at 31 July each year. While every care has been taken in the publication of this Directory, NAATI accepts no responsibility for errors resulting from incorrect information provided by the entrants.

The Directory also contains the names and last known contact details of those who have been Accredited or Recognised in Australian Indigenous Languages.

Employers requiring verification of NAATI professional qualifications or identification of practitioners, whether included in this Directory or not, may contact the NAATI National Office in Canberra on;

How to Select the Right Translator/Interpreter for an Assignment

This Directory should be used to ensure that the translator and/or interpreter chosen has been accredited by NAATI in the language, level and skill appropriate to the complexity of the work, and in the required language direction/s. If an accredited translator and/or interpreter is not available in a certain language, employers are encouraged to contact NAATI for more information.

When selecting a translator and/or interpreter for a particular assignment, employers are advised to ensure that the person chosen meets their requirements for the work involved. Guidelines for selecting appropriately qualified practitioners are provided in the NAATI Concise Guide for Working with Translators and Interpreters in Australia.
