Changes to our application and recertification processes
We are always looking for ways we can improve our processes and systems to give you a better experience when you sit a test with NAATI.
From 1 July 2019, our test application process has changed. Our technology team has introduced improvements to give you greater certainty about your test dates.
The key change is that you are now able to self-select a test date when you make your payment.
Previously applicants weren’t able to do this and needed to pay before they could select a test date. For some tests this meant that test dates filled up before the applications had been approved.
Now you will be able to select your test date first and secure it when you pay for your test.
For Translators and Interpreters who are recertifying their credentials, we’re making changes to improve our processing times for recertification applications. This means we'll be able to process your recertification applications faster.
Cancellation policy and fees schedule
NAATI reviews our products and services annually. From this review, we have released our revised fees schedule and a new cancellation policy that came into effect from 1 July 2019.
Transition applications will end 31 December 2019
In 2018 NAATI began the new credentialing system for Translators and Interpreters known as Certification. Accredited translators and Interpreters who were working under the old system, were invited to transition to Certification from October 2017.
NAATI will continue accepting applications from Accredited Translators and Interpreters to transition to NAATI Certification up until 31 December 2019. After this date, these will no longer be accepted, and the only way to gain NAATI Certification will be to meet the training requirements and pass a test in your language for the credential type you want.
