Open for Consultation: Draft NSQHS Standards on Care for Migrant and Refugee Patients

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) is seeking feedback on the draft National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards User guide for health service organisations providing care for patients from migrant and refugee backgrounds (the user guide). Migrant and Refugee Health Partnership collaborated with the Commission to develop the user guide.

This user guide provides information for health service organisations on recommended approaches to delivering culturally responsive-care that is safe and of high quality to patients from migrant and refugee backgrounds. It contains practical strategies and examples for improving care for these patients.

Consultation has commenced and will run until 3 April 2020. You are invited to view the draft user guide and have your say.

Preferred method to receive feedback is via SurveyMonkey. Alternatively, written submissions can be emailed to the National Standards Program

If you have queries about the survey, email the National Standards Program, call the NSQHS Standards Advice Centre on 1800 304 056, or contact the Secretariat of the Migrant and Refugee Health Partnership.
