As we move into the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, the incredible service of translators and interpreters in providing critical health information is reinforced daily. NAATI remains dedicated to its vision for a connected community without language barriers and ensuring we can continue to provide services to our practitioners and candidates.
With the dramatic increase of COVID-19 cases since December 2021, we have made the difficult decision to (yet again) move all our staff (except those based in Perth) back into remote working arrangements from Monday, 10 January 2022.
Our physical offices will be closed until at least 31 March 2022; however, we want to assure you that our work continues across all states and territories. All our offices and your contacts within NAATI are still reachable by telephone and email, we will continue to respond promptly to emails received to info@naati.com.au, and we will keep you informed by providing regular updates on our website at www.naati.com.au and through the monthly NAATI News.
All NAATI testing (except WA) will be delivered online until at least the end of March 2022 in line with our office closures.
NAATI has invested heavily in new and innovative technologies since the pandemic began, and the majority of our testing has been conducted online over the past year – with over 20,000 tests delivered. We have also continued to develop materials for new languages and skills for future candidates without disruption. We are confident that we can continue to deliver fair and reliable online testing to ensure access and safety for candidates across Australia.
We have had great success in utilising new online platforms to deliver examiner training and certification test development and have recently launched online test preparation materials for candidates. We will continue to invest in these platforms to ensure our stakeholders have access to the resources they need.
Employee, practitioner and candidate wellbeing and business continuity are high priorities for us as we continue to navigate through this challenging global situation. We remain committed to these priorities and our overarching mission to maximise people’s ability to engage and participate in Australian society, and thank you for your patience and ongoing support.
