Job overview
This is a casual/contract on-site role located in Melbourne, VIC for an Interpreting and Translating Trainer and Assessor (Thai / Turkish / Spanish/ Portuguese).
The Trainer and Assessor will be responsible for delivering training and assessment services to support the effective implementation of AIL’s Interpreting and Translating courses. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining quality training and assessment resources, moderating assessments, and providing feedback to students to support their learning journey.
Position requirements
- Fluent in Thai / Turkish / Spanish / Portuguese and English with excellent speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in all languages
- Hold NAATI-certified credentials at a minimum level of Professional Interpreter / Professional Translator (or higher) or equivalent
- Hold TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (optional for Trainer / MUST have for Assessor)
- Experience in delivering and assessing Interpreting and Translating courses at VET level
- Experience in course development, including design, review, and updating of teaching and learning materials
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students and stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet targets and objectives
- Strong digital literacy skills with experience in using a range of technology platforms and tools
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to maintaining professional knowledge and skills
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Interpreting and Translating or a related field would be beneficial
- Experience working in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector would be beneficial
