We’re pleased to announce that, in response to a recommendation of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, NAATI has developed a new professional development resource for credentialed interpreters.
The Commission’s final report highlighted the urgent need to improve disability awareness and reduce the barriers faced by people with disability. The Disability Awareness for Interpreters training module supports those goals by equipping interpreters with the knowledge and skills to work more effectively and respectfully with people with disability.
Developed specifically for interpreters, the module explores common issues and challenges in practice and features interviews with experienced practitioners who share practical tips and strategies.
This 3-hour self-paced online module is free for NAATI-certified interpreters and is eligible for 20 PD points (Category 1.5).
