NAATI Welcomes New Directors

The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters Ltd (NAATI) is pleased to announce the recent appointment of three new Board members. 

  • Dr Adolfo Gentile
    • Brings significant expertise as a consultant, expert and researcher in the interpreting and translating field. Dr Gentile is widely known as an expert and has published extensively in the interpreting and translating field. 
  • Mr Mark Avery
    • Brings substantial senior executive experience across a wide range of sectors including community health, education and research, acute care (hospitals) and aged care in both private and public sector settings. 
  • Ms Jovanka Naumoska
    • Brings extensive experience as a legal practitioner across the intellectual property law, corporate law and corporate governance spheres.

The Chair of the NAATI Board, Ms Voula Messimeri said “All three Directors bring significant expertise and experience at the Board Director level in a wide range of sectors. Their impressive skills, qualifications and experience will be invaluable to the NAATI Board.” 

Ms Messimeri paid tribute to the outgoing Directors, Mr Pino Migliorino, Mr John Williams and Ms Mitra Khakbaz “Their outstanding contributions to the Board and leadership during the most significant changes NAATI has seen has led to major improvements for the translating and interpreting profession in Australia.” 

NAATI CEO, Mark Painting also thanked the outgoing Directors for their leadership and support and welcomed the new Board Directors “I am looking forward to working with the new Directors in continuing to deliver NAATI’s vision of a connected community without language barriers.”
