TAFESA 2024 interpreting and translating courses: Applications now open

Do you have advanced skills in English and another language and would like to become an interpreter or translator?

TAFE SA’s short courses in interpreting and translation have been developed to help you meet the minimum prerequisite training requirements set by NAATI for the Certified Provisional Interpreter and/or Certified Translator test and are designed to prepare candidates for this test.

These short courses are delivered and assessed in English and provide students with the opportunity to practice in their language groups where possible.

Applicants must meet English proficiency requirements before enrolment by providing evidence of their English proficiency or undertaking a pre-course language test (free) to ensure they have the required level of English to complete the course and meet NAATI English requirements.

The Interpreting Skills for NAATI Certificate short course is also a prerequisite to apply to study the Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE-English) (next intake July 2024). The Diploma of Interpreting is language-specific and offers students the opportunity to learn interpreting skills and terminology in their language.
