Update on NAATI’s Assessment Rubrics

As part of its ongoing quality assurance and review processes, NAATI has recently updated the wording of some assessment rubric descriptors. These updates are to provide a clearer band descriptor to candidates that is more encompassing and representative of the given band level.

These changes are an improvement to the wording of the band descriptors and do not alter NAATI’s assessment process for future or previously awarded results.

Amendments include:

    • Certified Translator – Revision of a Non-Specialised Translation task
assessment rubric: updated wording of Band 3 descriptor for Skill A (Revision skills)

    • Certified Translator – Translation of a Non-Specialised Text task
assessment rubric: updated wording of Band 2 descriptor for Skill D (Language Proficiency enabling meaning transfer)

  • Assessment rubrics for all interpreting and translation tests:
updated wording of Band 3 descriptor for the Language Proficiency enabling meaning transfer skill.
