
Join us for a free workshop designed to build your skills, confidence, and cultural responsiveness when working with Rainbow Migrants (LGBTIQA+ clients in asylum and migration settings). Learn how to interpret ethically and sensitively in emotionally charged contexts—while supporting both client dignity and your own wellbeing.
Participants will:

Gain foundational knowledge of LGBTIQA+ experiences and identities, concepts, and terminology across cultural and linguistic boundaries.

Explore the intersection of migration, sexual orientation and gender identity.

Develop ethical and trauma-informed interpreting practices tailored for emotionally charged scenarios.

About the Facilitator
This session will be facilitated by Dr Lukasz Krzyzowski, Edith Cowan University / Rainbow Migrants.Dr Lukasz Krzyzowski (he/him) is a Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellow at Edith Cowan University and the founder and director of Rainbow Migrants. An applied sociologist, his work centres on co-designing community-driven initiatives and developing evidence-based policy to strengthen the sense of belonging, wellbeing, and social support networks for culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) LGBTIQA+ communities, including refugees and people seeking asylum.
