Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Languages Training Calendar​

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language interpreters are invited to join us online to connect with other interpreters, refresh your skills, and work towards or maintain your certification.

Please RSVP to iip@naati.com.au to sign up for a session and we will send you an invitation, including the link to join.

We also advertise general professional development opportunities on our website here. These are open to translators and interpreters from all languages.

These sessions are designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language interpreters who are working towards achieving their
NAATI certification. They are all delivered online. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming NAATI certified, email us at iip@naati.com.au to ask about which of these opportunities are suitable.

NAATI Online Preparation Training Opportunities

Ethical Competency (EC) online course

3 x 2.5hrs via Zoom
Total of 7.5 hours

For interpreters needing to meet the EC prerequisite for NAATI certification tests. Individual testing by appointment after training.

  • April 15, 16, and 17 – 2024

Intercultural Competency (IC) online course

3 x 2.5hrs via Zoom
Total of 7.5 hours

For interpreters needing to meet the IC prerequisite for NAATI certification tests. Individual testing by appointment after training. 

  • April 29, 30, and May 1 – 2024
    (Mon-Wed)

CPI test online preparation course

3 x 3hrs via Zoom
Total of 9 hours

For interpreters who have completed Ethical Competency and Intercultural Competency requirements and are preparing for CPI testing.

  • May 13, 14 and 15 – 2024
    (Mon-Wed)

Professional Development Opportunities

Professional development (PD) opportunities will be displayed below when they are available. These sessions are designed for certified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language interpreters who are looking to build on their professional skills and maintain their certification by earning PD points. They are all delivered online. Non-certified interpreters and trainers are also welcome to attend, but prior interpreting experience will be assumed.
